Earlier this month, a lady shared an amazing testimony that caused almost the whole church to hold their breath while waiting for the plot twist in the story. And when you think it's about to end, it gets deeper than you have imagined.

Halfway into the testimony, it occurred to me that I had a similar challenge with the lady except that God took us through a different route to get to the end of the challenge.

That got me thinking. How?

I believe that the lady and I have picked different lessons from our experiences. This is because what God intends to achieve in our lives is different from person to person and that often informs how He leads us and the kind of lessons He will teach on the journey.

We have to be particular about our relationship with Him because that is where we will receive such a blueprint for the kind of person God wants to make us, similar to the kind of instruction Moses received in Exodus 25:8-9 (AMP): You shall construct it in accordance with everything that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture.

This implies that we should be mindful of the way we import people's lifestyles into our lives in the hope of getting their results. God might intend that we get their results but in a different way. So He promised in Psalm 32:8 (The Living Bible): I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.

The challenge here is to cultivate a personal and intimate relationship with God so we can become that person He had in mind when He was forming us. Because we might be travelling on the same road and the lesson prepared is different from person to person.
