Have you ever wondered why some people hold on to faith [in God] about certain matters so strongly but eventually look like their hope was dashed at the end?

Yeah, this is something I have been pondering on lately.

You may have noticed individuals taking an antagonistic position on various matters of faith and belief in God.

In many cases, their hostility stems from deep-seated anger, often rooted in disappointment. Understanding this dynamic doesn't really take much prophetic insight to understand this dynamic because many of them anchor their new positions on personal experiences.

The question is what happened?

I believe that it is very easy for us to want something so much and so badly, and our knowledge of God has shown us that God can do all things. To this end, all we just do is put it on our 'faith invoice'.

But does it work that way?

Romans 10:2 (AMP) made it known that it is possible to have a certain enthusiasm for God, but not in accordance with [correct and vital] knowledge [about Him and His purposes].

We must know and understand that God only does as He purpose, and it is our responsibility to angulate our hearts and desires to God's purpose.

So 1 John 5:14 (AMP) reads:

This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.

This kind of faith only comes by the consistent hearing of God's words as captured in Romans 10:17.

The Bible shows, on various occasions, that the Lord is loyal to His Words. I want us to leverage His words as our surest bet—not our emotions—because the will and purposes of God, backed by His Words, are the end of every conviction.
